OK, so this is our first go-around at this unknown (at least to me) tool called Blogging. Last night the office had a presence at the first annual (and first race) Alpine Shop Off-Road Racing League trail series. Although, the number of participants was lower than expected, the excitement of the concept was present. With very little advertisement, the were still more than 20 runners on an evening where the heat index reached over 105 at 7:00pm.
The course was flat and fast with a two-loop concept at beautiful Castlewood State Park. The runners pretty much stayed on the Lone Wolf trail which has a rather large creek traversing thru the middle of the course, which being a two-loop course, they had to cross twice. Needless to say, the race was an overall success, and with more advertising from the Alpine Shop, Big River Running, and SLIR next week should present itself with quite a few more runners.
Be sure to follow the link for more information on the trail series, www.offroadracingleague.com
Thanks for your support of the Outdoor Racing League. It's great to see more and more people get involved in outdoor activities and exercise. Last night's turnout was pretty decent considering the heat, but the course was fun and challenging. We all look forward to growing the number of participants as we move along.
ReplyDeleteGood seeing you out there last night, and I may need your services soon. My hours on a bike tend to give me some pretty mean muscle spasms in my back from time to time :)
